Infuriating Trouncing to the Koreans

Chinese athletes are known for their remarkable competences and talents in almost all kinds of sports. In Asia, they continuously take over the region in a number of sporting events like Asian Games. Nonetheless, China failed to win one of the most valuable gold medals during the last Asian Games that was held in Hanoi, Vietnam. The Chinese national team led by NBA superstar Yao Ming was defeated by their major contender Korea, who actually surprised a lot of people with their win. This rout is something objectionable because they have a dominating big man in the person of Yao and at the same time, they were the defending champion.

Plus, we cannot consider the venue as a factor for their rout since Vietnamese were not anyway favoring the Koreans. They were more anxious with their soccer team who captured the gold medal. To keep it short, China had no reason to lose that championship game since they were viewed as the unsurpassed in Asia. Nonetheless, after that infuriating loss, many Asians realized that there is an emerging basketball super power in their region. Unfortunately, this emerging power were not the Chinese who failed to live up to the prospects of their immense population.

Renowned Great Wall of China Isn't Awesome Anymore

One of my greatest dreams in life is to be able to land on the renowned Great Wall of China, which is viewed as one of the seven wonders of the new world. This wall is viewed as the world's longest man-made structure, which extends from Shanhai Pass on the Bohai Sea in the east to Lop Nur in the southeastern portion of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, served as defense of several Chinese dynaties against the Hunnic, Mongol, Turkic, and other roving tribes from Mongolia and Manchuria.

However, the once awesome wall isn't completely awesome right now since majority of the wall is wasted. While, there are parts that have been rebuilt and reconstructed as tourist centers, still most portion of the wall is severely damaged. Worst, there are people from the adjoining village who are picking stones from the walls for their own purposes. My question is, why does the government grant such detrimental activity in the area? This is understood to be a heritage site which they should be watching over, and yet nothing is happening. I thought China is a well-to-do country, but why are they not using their money to protect this historical and first-rate structure that they're grandfathers built for the country's independence and safety.

Prominent Yao Deserves Positive Reception

It is a well-known fact and without a doubt that the entry of Yao Ming in the NBA is one of the biggest triumphs of Asians in sports history -- considering the fact that there are only a few players who are given the chance to play in the principal professional basketball league in the world. Yao, who originates in Shanghai, China, is dubbed as one of the most assertive centers in the NBA today.

During the heated 2003 NBA All-Stars balloting, Yao overcame his equally-famous rival Shaquille O'Neal of the LA Lakers for the center position. Despite controversies that Yao prevailed because of the immense population of China, still, Yao proved his worth. In 2005, Yao beat Michael Jordan's record as the top vote-getter for an All-Star game; this supported the fact that Yao is eligible of his All-Stars inclusion. Likewise, Yao has continuously developed his performance playing alongside superstar Tracy McGrady. Now, he is dubbed as one of the major men of the Houston Rockets and with him the chances of another championship is a possibility. Undeniably, Asians, especially Chinese people, should be proud of what he has reached in the NBA so far.

Babes Just Don't Have Entertainment

With the implementation of the one-child policy in China, the country is little by little returning to the tradition of boys being the inclination for children than girls. So basically in China, if you can only own one child, better make sure it's a boy, so your parentage doesn't die out. So baby boys are dealt with like emperors, spoiled beyond belief while girls...well girls are more likely to be avoided, dispensed with, given away, and even aborted. And with government bonuses and tax exemption on the line, the chances of the survival and robust growth of baby girls are very wiry.

China's guidelines makers should be brought to legal action. I deliberate if these people have female children or siblings to come up with these peculiar ideas. For boosting these parents to call off the pregnancy or resort to infanticide, they should be made an accessory to murder, and charged accordingly. If they think that its the one-child guidelines that's to be seen as the explanation of their population's slow decline, they've got another thing coming. China's people are falling back on marrying late and spacing their children, and this is a far better system.

The next time I get reborn, I long that I won't be a girl in China.
